How does the calculator work?

The calculator builds each team's share of the product from its full set checklist: every card the team has in the product, weighted by that team's share of the set's value, with card values drawn from real completed sales where coverage exists. We factor in MSRP, box count, break type, and platform fees to work out what each spot's share of the boxes' cost is — an allocation, not a prediction of what a box returns — then apply your bid dial (the share of box retail you'll pay, 68% by default) to reach the max-bid recommendation. What you get back is a comparison, not a return: your bid against that spot's share of the bill, where 0% means the two are equal, so you can see whether a spot is priced above or below what the boxes cost.

Where coverage exists, card values come from real completed sales, and every calculator shows how much of its value is sales-backed and when pricing was last updated. Be clear about what that produces, though: it is an allocation — how the boxes' cost divides across the spots — not a prediction of what a break returns. Nothing in this app estimates a box's yield, and no calculator can predict the outcome of any single break.

How do I calculate a break?

It's simple: (1) Select your sport and product, (2) Enter the break details (number of boxes, break type), (3) Input team prices from the breaker's listing, (4) Select which teams you're considering, (5) Review the max bid, each spot's share of what the boxes cost, how your bid compares with that share, and the AI's read on the risks. The whole process takes 2-3 minutes.

For even more accuracy, you can upload a product checklist (Excel or CSV) and our AI will parse it to calculate exact team distributions. What are team tiers (S, A, B, C, D)?

Team tiers compare each team's share of the product's checklist value to the average priced team in the pool you selected: S-tier is at least 2x the average, A-tier at least 1.2x, B-tier at least 0.6x, and anything below that is a filler team. A tier ranks teams against each other; it says nothing about what a spot will return. Tiers are relative to the product — the same team can be S-tier in one set and C-tier in another, depending on its rookies and checklist presence. Teams without enough pricing data are shown as unpriced rather than guessed.

Can I compare multiple products?

Yes! Pro tier users (launching in 2026) will be able to compare up to 5 products side-by-side to find the best value. Free tier users can save multiple breaks and manually compare them in their dashboard. That comparison is about price, not payout: it shows which product's spots are asking least against their share of what the boxes cost. No calculator can tell you which product will return the most.

Our AI parser automatically identifies teams, players, card types (base, rookies, autos, memorabilia), and calculates exact team distributions. This gives you the most accurate EV calculations possible, especially for new products not yet in our database.

We use a proprietary algorithm that weighs factors like: NFL Draft position, prospect rankings (Mel Kiper, PFF), college stats, team landing spot, historical performance of similar prospects, and early-season performance. The algorithm is continuously updated based on actual card sale data to reflect market sentiment.

What about variance and luck?

The dollar figures in the calculator are an allocation of what the boxes cost across the spots — they are not a prediction of what you will pull. You could buy a spot for well under its share of that cost and pull nothing, or overpay badly and hit a huge auto. Because nothing in this app estimates what a box returns, there is no projected payout for your results to converge on: the allocation tells you how the bill is split, and the cards decide the rest. Card values are also heavily right-skewed — a few big hits carry most of a product's value, so the typical spot lands well below the average. This is why we recommend a portfolio approach to reduce variance.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use Supabase (enterprise-grade database) with bank-level encryption. Your payment information is processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant) and never touches our servers. We never sell or share your data. You can delete your account and all data at any time from your settings.
